No prior experience is necessary. However we have physical requirements that must be met for your own safety. We provide a safety briefing and instructions before your ride. Information regarding physical requirements can be found under the "more" drop down tab.

Do I need prior experience to rent a jet ski?

Bring valid ID for all drivers 16 +, as well as a credit/debit card for your deposits. Sunscreen, towels, and sunglasses are available for sale, or bring your own! We also recommend a dry change of clothes.

What should I bring for my jet ski rental?

To rent a jet ski, you must be at least 18 years old; however, 16 and 17-year-olds can drive solo with valid I.D, but will require a legal guardian to be present to rent the watercraft and sign waiver forms. Children 14 & 15 are allowed to drive the watercraft only with a parent or guardian 18+ on board. Children under the age of 14 are allowed as passengers, but not allowed to drive. The minimum age for children to ride as passengers is 5 years old, and they must weigh at least 35 pounds.

Are there age restrictions for jet ski rentals?

All participants must be able to swim and treat water unassisted, no exceptions. Weight limit is 400 lbs. total passenger weight per ski. The more weight you add, the more likely the watercraft will capsize and flip. Participants should be physically strong enough and capable to climb back on the jet ski without assistance in the event they fall off. Yes, you will probably end up in the water at some point! This is comparable to climbing out of a pool without a ladder. If you have ANY doubt in this ability, please do not get on the jet skis. Guest should consider their physical abilities, fitness level, and medical history before getting on the jet ski. Guest with previous, neck, back, leg injuries, cardiac conditions, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, or other heart or respiratory issues should take particular caution when selecting this activity and consult a physician before participating. NEJSR LLC is NOT liable for any injuries you may incur while on our jet skis.

What are the Physical Requirements?

Yes, Reservations are required. We welcome walk up traffic, but cannot guarantee availability. Reservations booked online will be charged the full amount when the reservation is made. Each renter’s photo ID and credit card must match and will be verified upon check-in.

Are Reservations Required?

Absolutely! We frequently host corporate events, private parties, bachelor/bachelorette trips, etc. We recommend contacting us before booking online to ensure we are able to provide the best experience and to meet the needs of your group in the best possible way.

Can I rent a jet ski for a group event?

A $250 damage deposit is required for all rentals. IF YOU ARE DRIVING A JET SKI, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN $250 DAMAGE DEPOSIT WITHOUT A DEPOSIT, YOU CANNOT RENT A JET SKI. NO EXEPTION. We require a $250 damage deposit for every jet ski rented. You may use credit or debit card, however cash is not accepted. Additional renters/drivers within your group will be required to provide their own damage deposit for the jet ski they will be operating. Spouses & children of renters may provide only 1 credit card, however siblings & friends may not “share” a credit card or cover deposits for other people. The damaged deposit is 100% fully refundable as long as your jet ski is returned without damage. This is both for your safety, and the safety of our equipment. IF you have damage, the deposit will be applied to the total damage expense. You are responsible for the full cost of damage & repairs and it is due at the time damage has occurred. Damage cost can be up to replacement value of the watercraft at $10,000. We highly recommend adding accident protection to your rental to reduce your liability.

Is there a damage deposit?

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy for all reservations. Reservations must be canceled at least 24 hours before rental time to receive a full refund. Reservations canceled within 24 hours prior to their rental time are charged 50% of their reservation. NO-CALL/NO SHOWS will be charged the full amount, no refunds. The reason for our policy is that once we have held that spot for you, we are then turning away customers who could have filled your slot as we are usually sold out most days. We understand that life happens and things come up, and we will do our best to work with you. If you need to re-schedule or cancel, please call us ASAP. Don’t wait until your rental time to call and cancel or re-schedule!

Do you have cancellation policy?

If there is foul weather at the time of your rental, you will not be charged a cancellation fee and we can issue a full refund, or rebook you to a later date/time as available. IF it begins raining/lightning during your rental and you do not receive your whole time on the water, we will pro-rate it for how long you were out. WE DO NOT CANCEL RESERVATIONS BASED ON A WEATHER FORECAST. However, if it is forecasted that it will be a complete wash out (70% or more chance of rain) for the entire day, we may cancel all reservations for the day and we will be in contact with you as early in advance as possible.

What if it rains?

Your group must check in 30 minutes early. Once you arrive we will begin the check-in process & safety instructions. This “prep time” is not included in your actual riding time, and you will still receive the full rented time on the water! Some folks prefer to arrive even earlier as to not feel rushed, but please note that actual instruction will not begin until 30 minutes prior to your reserved time. Remember, your reservation time is when your time on the water begins. Be early. We understand things happen and we will work with you the best way possible. Arriving late will likely cut into your actual riding time. We are very busy most days and cannot inconvenience other customers because of your tardiness!

How early should we be?

FAST! Our skis are capable of speeds up to 55 mph depending on rider(s) weight and water conditions. We only operate NEW MODEL YAMAHA VXs. The engine is a High Output TR1 3 Cylinder 4-stroke engine with 120 HP (not available on older models). Our jet skis do NOT have speed limiting governors as some of the “other guys” in the area. We guarantee our skis are the nicest & fastest jet skis available to rent in Wilmington, North Carolina.

How Fast Are Your Jet Skis?

All of our jet skis can accommodate 3 riders and have a weight limit of 400 lbs HOWEVER we recommend you do not push the limit. The more riders & weight, the more you will tip! For the most comfortable experience, we recommend 1 adult rider per ski. No more than 2 adult riders per ski, or 2 small adults and 1 small child. Each ski rented is for that rider, or couple. No switching or sharing with other parties allowed.

Absolutely! We make sure you are confident in riding, understanding the area, and safely operating the ski before sending you out. We explain every aspect of operation and safety and answer any and all questions you may have. IMPORTANT NOTE: if it is observed by a staff member that anyone in your party is either 1) not paying clear attention to safety information, 2) unable to understand safety information, or 3) purposefully ignoring safety protocol, their rental will be ended immediately without refund. Please click "more" in the top banner and follow the "orientation tab" for more information.

Will You Give Instructions?

The renter/operator is responsible for ALL damage caused while renting the watercraft OR that they caused to another jet ski while renting. In the event, you cause damage to another renters jet ski, you will be held responsible for damage to both jet skis. DAMAGE FEES ARE DUE AT THE TIME DAMAGE OCCURS. DAMAGE FEES WILL BE KEPT FROM YOUR DAMAGE DEPOSIT. IF TOTAL DAMAGE COST EXCEEDS DEPOSIT AMOUNT, THE BALANCE IS DUE THE SAME DAY, AT THAT TIME. WE DO NOT BILL YOU LATER FOR DAMAGE. The jet ski will be inspected before and after each use for damage. Damage fees/cost will be at the renter/operator’s expense, up to replacement value of the watercraft. If repair cost and lost time are excessive, over 50% value, the renter has the option to purchase jet ski at NADA value. Reimbursement for lost rental time may occur if the damage is excessive enough to render the jet ski unrentable until repaired. This fee is $250 per day until the jet ski is repaired and available for rental. Fiberglass chips, scratches, or cracks in paint — $100 per inch — occurs from negligent operation, ie. running into things or other watercraft. Minimum $250 charge for fiberglass damage.

What happens if I damage the equipment?

Running aground fee $250 (will not happen if you follow our instructions) Fiberglass Damage-$100 per inch Down time-$250 per day until the ski is repaired Water intrusion into the engine or sunken watercraft — $3,000-full replacement cost — occurs from flipping the jet ski over and not following provided instruction on correcting. Damage to Impeller, Wear Ring, or Debris sucked into water intake — up to $500 — occurs from operating outside of designated riding area and getting too shallow & sucking sand/debris though jet pump. Broken hatches, bumpers, seats, handles, throttles, or any physical part of jet ski — $100+ as quoted We do offer accident protection options which will help avoid an extremely expensive repair bill if you were to have a bad accident. Please ask if you have any questions. **** These are only examples. The renter is responsible for the total cost of any damage that occurs while jet ski is being operated, including other personal property, jet skis & or boats.

Our easy to find private location is on the Intracoastal Waterway which means no “idle time” in no wake zones. Our watercraft are launched directly from our EZ DOCK platforms and the open water is your playground! Our EZ-DOCK platform installed for safe & easy boarding and docking the jet skis. We are the only rental business in the area with a pier on the waterway offering a fantastic place to enjoy the scenic views as you can watch your family & friends enjoy the jet skis. From Carolina Beach & Kure Beach 1-2 miles (about 2 minutes). Go across Snows Cut Bridge towards Wilmington, make first RIGHT at the FIRST stop light onto Seabreeze Rd. (You will see Pelican Snowballs on the corner), go to the end of Seabreeze Rd and you can’t miss us! From Downtown Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach 10-12 miles (about 10-20 minutes). Head south on College Rd, which turns into Carolina Beach rd (HWY 421) south, turn Left onto Seabreeze Rd just before Snows Cut Bridge. You will see Pelican Snowballs on the corner. If you pass this turn, you will go over Snows cut bridge and need to U-Turn. Go to the end of Seabreeze Rd and you can’t miss us

One of the best things to do in Carolina Beach is a “Freestyle” jet ski adventure along our five-mile stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway, including Snows’ Cut. This calm “Bay” or sound area is perfect for exploring, and offers plenty of space for safe riding. At Nearly 200 feet wide or more in most locations, the intracoastal water way is not subject to strong wave action like the open ocean. On busy days, you can expect small chop from other boaters and jet-skiers. Your instructor will explain the designated boundaries to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride. Staying within these boundaries protects you from hazards like sandbars and sharp oyster shells, which pose massive safety risks to both the watercraft and the operator and passengers! You’ll still have more than plenty freedom to explore , enjoy the scenery, and experience the thrill of riding your jet ski, all while staying within a safe, monitored area. Adventure awaits — safely!

With proper permitting conditions and an approved guide, you may have the opportunity to take your jet ski into the Atlantic Ocean for an incredible riding experience! Ocean riding offers breathtaking coastal views and the chance to see dolphins, sea turtles, and other local marine life. It’s an exhilarating way to experience the Carolina Beach coastline from a whole new perspective. However, ocean conditions can vary and this ride can be physically demanding. For your safety: Ocean access is available only with a CBJSR guide and staff approval Additional guidance and safety instruction will be provided Participation is always at staff discretion based on conditions and rider ability If this experience is something you're interested in, please select the proper add-on option when making your reservation. Important : Ocean riding is strictly prohibited without a guide. Entering the ocean without permission will result in immediate termination of your rental without refund. If conditions at the time of your reservation are not permitting for operating in the ocean, you will receive a refund of additional charges and revert back to a normal free style rental. When conditions allow, this ocean experience is one of the most exciting water activities in Carolina Beach, NC — and an adventure you’ll never forget.

Policies

Reservations We highly encourage that all customers make reservations in advance to ensure availability. Reservations are guaranteed, and you will receive confirmation via email and text. Walk-up customers are welcome, but same day availability cannot be guaranteed, as priority is given to customers with reservations. Full Payment Required: To secure your reservation, full payment is necessary. Group Payments: If you wish to split payment within your group, each individual should book their jet ski separately through our online system. Photo ID and Credit Card Verication: Each renter must present a matching photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Damage Deposit A $250 Damage Deposit is Required to Operate a Jet Ski. Every operator must provide their own $250 damage deposit for their jet ski. This deposit can be made using a credit or debit card. Please note: Spouses and children may share one credit card for deposits. Siblings and friends cannot share a credit card or cover deposits for others. The deposit is fully refundable as long as the jet ski is returned without damage. In case of damage, the deposit will be applied toward repair costs. Operators are responsible for the total cost of repairs, up to the replacement value of $12,000. For added peace of mind, we recommend purchasing damage protection. Identification Requirements All renters and operators aged 16+ must present a valid photo ID at check-in. If someone else made the reservation, we will require their ID and the card used for the booking. Weather Policy If it is raining/lightning/foul weather at the time of your rental, you may reschedule or receive a full refund. If weather interrupts your rental, we will prorate your refund based on time used. Reservations are not canceled based on weather forecasts. However, if heavy rain (70%+ chance) is predicted all day, we may cancel reservations and notify you directly as early in advance as possible. Cancellation Policy We offer a 24-hour cancellation policy for all reservations, including those made within 24 hours of the rental. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will incur a 50% charge. No-call/No-shows are charged the full reservation amount with no refund. We understand that unexpected situations may arise and will do our best to assist you. Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Orientation All operators must attend an orientation covering the safe operation of jet skis and applicable local and state laws. It is the operator’s responsibility to ask questions if clarification is needed. Safety and enjoyment are our top priorities! If a staff member observes you not paying active attention to the safety information, or if you clearly are not able to understand the information provided to you in the safety briefing video with clarification from instructor, NEJSR reserves the right to cancel your rental without refund. Damage Responsibility Operators are accountable for any and all damage incurred while using the jet ski. The jet ski will be inspected before and after your rental. Damage costs, including repairs or replacement, will be charged to the operator at the time which damage occurs. Damage Fees (Examples) Running aground and retrieval : Minimum $350 Damage to impeller, wear ring, or debris intake: Up to $1,500 Water intrusion or sunken watercraft: $5,000 up to full replacement value. Fiberglass chips, scratches, or cracks: $100 per inch, minimum $250. Plus an additional $250 per day of downtime. Broken parts (e.g., seats, throttles): $100+ as quoted. Overtime Policy Please return jet skis on time. Late returns will be charged $5 per minute. We appreciate your cooperation to ensure an enjoyable experience for all customers.

Rental Requirements Everything You Need to Know Before Your Jet Ski Adventure To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience — please review the following rental requirements and policies carefully before booking. Reservation Requirements ● You must be 18 years or older to make a reservation (online or in person). ● The person who makes the reservation must be present at check-in and provide valid photo identification — even if they do not plan to ride. ● We welcome any and all customers! However, in order to operate a jet ski in any capacity, you must be able to read, speak, and understand English.. Age Requirements ● 14–15 years old: May drive with a parent or legal guardian on board. ● 16–17 years old: May operate solo with a parent or legal guardian present to sign waiver documents. ● Minimum age to ride: 5 years old and at least 35 pounds. Identification Requirements ● All drivers 16 years and older must present a valid government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or Passport). ● School IDs or unofficial identification will NOT be accepted. The reservation holder must also provide valid photo ID at check-in. How fast are jet skis?

FAST! Our skis are capable of speeds up to 55 mph depending on rider(s) weight and water conditions. We only operate new model YAMAHA VXs. High Output TR1 3 Cylinder 4-stroke engine with 120 HP (not available on older models). Our jet skis do NOT have speed limiting governors as some of the “other guys” in the area. We guarantee our skis are the fastest jet skis available to rent in Wilmington, North Carolina.

How many people can ride?

All of our jet skis will accommodate three riders and have a weight limit of 400 lbs. For the most comfortable experience, we recommend one rider per ski. No more than two adult riders per ski, or two adults and a small child. Each ski rented is for that rider, or couple. No switching or sharing with other parties allowed. THE MORE WEIGHT ON THE JET SKI THE HARDER IT CAN BE TO DRIVE

Are rates per person or per jet ski?

Rental is for single rider. Additional rider is $10.

Do you give instructions?

What if it rains?

If it is raining at the time of your rental, you will not be charged a cancellation fee. IF it begins raining during your rental and do not receive your whole time on the water, we will pro-rate it for how long you were out. WE DO NOT CANCEL RESERVATIONS BASED ON A WEATHER FORECAST. IF it forcasted that it will be a complete wash out (70% or more) for the entire day, we may cancel all reservations for the day and we will be in contact with you.

I’ve been going here years, never once had a single problem in the slightest. It’s always been extremely fun, they accommodate for everything including bad weather, staff is always so friendly, great safety and just a blast! I find it funny everyone complains about a deposit but are too close minded to realize these jetskis are expensive and it’s a valid precaution in case you wreck. 9/10 in the case of a wreck, it’s your fault, you can have fun and be safe.
